1. Manual removal methods


a.Using needle-nose pliers or tweezers: If a part of the broken tap is exposed outside the workpiece and the exposed part is long enough, you can try to use needle-nose pliers or tweezers to pull it out. 

b. Knocking method: When the broken part of the tap slightly protrudes from the surface of the part.


2. Removal methods using tools


a. Electrical discharge machining (EDM):, EDM is the most widely used. Electrical discharge machining uses the electro-erosion phenomenon during the pulsed spark discharge between the electrode and the workpiece to remove the excess metal. The advantage of this method is that the broken tap can be removed precisely and the damage to the workpiece is relatively small.
